Hiking
Family hikes and guided hikes in the Nockberge Biosphere Park or mountain tours in the Hohe Tauern National Park. In our surroundings many hiking possibilities are waiting for our guests.
We are happy to provide our guests with hiking maps, hiking poles and packed lunches
Cycling
One guided bike tour per week on the most beautiful bike paths in Upper Carinthia, climbing in the Maltatal or a visit to the high ropes course on the Katschberg - boredom will certainly not arise during your vacation!
Swimming
On hot days the Millstättersee (20 min. distance) or a visit to the family outdoor pool in Gmünd (free admission for our guests) is tempting.
Canyoning
Especially brave people master the Göss Falls in the Maltatal during a canyoning tour.
Climbing in the Maltatal
At Carinthia's highest waterfall, the sport via ferrata leads upwards with plenty of air under the soles, breathtaking deep views and perspectives.
Despite the excellent protection by a double rope technique, the via ferrata is only recommended to experienced via ferrata climbers.
For the children in the hotel
Where children's hearts beat faster and a day can not be long enough! A summer vacation in the small family hotel Koch offers your children entertainment all day long.
A large garden with sandbox, swing, slide, various playground equipment and a petting garden with rabbits awaits our younger guests. A children's paddling pool provides cooling.
Sports activities for the younger guests
Table tennis, table football, two children's playrooms in the hotel and a variety of board and card games will not let you get bored even in bad weather. A highlight is the evening football match - where the new talents of the national team are discovered.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday the children can give their parents the day off and are looked after by us free of charge. The rangers of the Nockberge Biosphere Reserve are happy to discover nature with your children once a week.

A variety of recreational activities in the immediate area await our guests at the small Family-Hotel Koch.
City of artists Gmünd
In addition to a fantastic selection of destinations for the kids to go out, there are also many attractions in the area to explore and enjoy. The medieval town of Gmünd, also known as the artists' town, hosts many art exhibitions and galleries. Sit back and enjoy the atmosphere in one of the inviting cafes.

Popular destinations
The "Nockalmstraße" and the "Kölnbreinsperre" are just some of the most popular attractions in the area. A day trip to the city Klagenfurtwith its beautiful Lake Wörthersee is only an hour drive away. The popular city Villachis only 45 minutes away.
Live music & comedy
In July and August the music weeks take place in Millstatt. Comedy lovers get their money's worth at the annual comedy plays at Porcia Castle in Spittal.
